A Little Slice Of Terror From The Butcher by Emily Schwandner

After reading about the Twisted50 Analogue Horror Challenge, I decided to give it a go.
When developing Fresh Flank I was inspired by a two things: my sister’s love of Mukbangs and the notoriety of Dr. Hannibal Lecter on page and screen. My sister seemingly is consistently watching Mukbangs on Reels and watching strangers shove large amounts of food in their mouth while gross to me, provides her hours of entertainment.
This component falls into the story as the cannibal lead in Fresh Flack is an enjoyer of food to the extreme and makes money by filming his process to an unknown audience. On the other side of my inspiration, we have one of the most famous cannibals as well as one of the most famous antagonists of all time in Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a character that in his latest screen adaptation, NBC’s Hannibal, takes great care in creating delicious meals for his guests.
Although the main character in Fresh Flank, The Butcher, does not make beautiful plates for the audience to feast their eyes on, his love of his craft does follow Hannibal the Cannibal.
Watch this space.
