Why I Love To Write Erotica Infused Horror
10 September 2024 · 1 min read
I have adored writing fantasy horror since I was lucky enough to be selected for Twisted50 volume 1. While my dull day job does keep me from writing as much as I would like to, I seem to squeeze in time for Twisted, reading on my way into work, dreaming up ideas at lunch and finally writing in the evening.
The writing quality this time around is even higher than before and I have enjoyed lurking in the shadows as so many stories have been uploaded. I really do need to start leaving feedback on stories, I am so grateful for the feedback on mine (especially helping with my dyslexia).
I also write erotica, which if you have read my story for Twisted50 vol 3, you will pick up on.
For me, horror and erotica are fused, and I love to explore those deep, dark and dirty recesses of our psyche. There is something deep inside that chasm that I cannot resist exploring. Perhaps it is a journey to find myself while down in the abyss. I think it is. In the writing I am revealing my soul, the dark heart of my own yearning.
My Twisted story is something of an addition to the one I wrote for Twisted vol one (Killer Heels), and by writing it, I have decided it is time to expand the universe and idea into a novel, perhaps even a screenplay. So again, Twisted seems to have made me a winner no matter the outcome.
The whole thing, writing to a brief, to a deadline and with a peer group has really helped motivate me too. It’s the Twisted50 secret weapon.
I can’t wait to find out who makes it into the book.
Good luck everyone.
