London Screenwriters' Festival Ltd
Last updated 6 November 2026
This policy explains what London Screenwriters Festival Ltd (company number 10369656, Ealing Studios, Ealing Green, London W5 5EP) does with your personal data when you use this site or buy a ticket to one of our online summits. We are the data controller. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office, registration ZB019894.
When you buy a ticket. Your name, email address, what you paid and when. Ticket Tailor collects this at checkout and passes it to us. Ticket Tailor and its payment processor handle your card details; we never receive them. Ticket Tailor's own privacy policy covers what they keep.
When you watch. To give you the replays we create an account for you on Talent Circle, our members' site, using the name and email from your ticket. That account is covered by Talent Circle's privacy policy as well as this one. You can delete the account whenever you like.
When you contact us. Whatever you put in the contact form or an email, plus your name and email address so we can reply.
When you're in the live chat or ask a question. Your display name and what you write, which may be recorded as part of the session.
Automatically. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, for security and to keep the site running. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
Sell you a ticket, let you in, send you the watch link and replay access: Performing our contract with you
Reply when you contact us: Our legitimate interest in answering you
Keep sales records: Legal obligation (tax and accounting)
Keep the site secure: Our legitimate interest in running a safe site
Email you about future events: Your consent, or our legitimate interest where you've bought from us before. Every email has an unsubscribe link
Companies that work for us, under contract, and only to do their job:
Ticket Tailor (checkout and ticketing)
Stripe or PayPal, through Ticket Tailor (payments)
Render (hosting) and Bunny.net (file storage and video delivery)
Vimeo, YouTube or Bunny (the video player in the live stream and replays; the player may set its own cookies, see the cookie notice)
our email provider, for the emails we send you
We don't sell your data and we don't give it to advertisers. We share it with authorities only if the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the UK's data bridge or on standard contractual clauses approved for the UK, so your data has the same protection it would have here.
Ticket and sales records: six years after the tax year of purchase, because HMRC requires it.
Your Talent Circle account: until you delete it or we close the service.
Contact form messages and emails: up to two years, then deleted.
Server logs: 30 days.
Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to send it to someone else. Email chris@londonswf.com and we'll reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd rather you came to us first.
Our summits are for adults and older teenagers working in or studying film. You must be 16 or over to buy a ticket. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
We'll post any change to this policy here and update the date below. If a change matters to you, for example a new use of your data, we'll email you.
